Here's what some of our guests have told us...
Dear Jamie and Staff,
On behalf of our Dining Group, we wanted to thank you and your staff, especially Chef Markian, for another year of culinary delights. From the September meal with its nostalgic touches to the final meal in June we experienced so many gastronomic pleasures. Thanks to all who helped in making our fortieth year as a dining group memorable.
We look forward to the start of our forty first year in September with the certainty that our palate will respond to the creations so artfully and tastily presented.

Cory and I wanted to send a note to thank you for all your helping in making our wedding day a complete success.
We've had so many compliments on the Shadow Lawn as a wedding venue, and on the DELICIOUS meal that was served.
Our families are both so happy with how the day turned out, and how professional and organized you and your staff was throughout the day. From the table settings, to the personalized service we are so happy that we chose the Shadow Lawn for this special day.
Thank you once again for all your help. It truly was a perfect day that Cory and I will remember for the rest of our lives... and we look forward to coming back year after year to celebrate our anniversary!
All the best.

Dear Mary Ann and Jamie,
Thanks so much for organizing another great evening at Shadow Lawn. It's a huge undertaking and you packed the house! Your kitchen and wait staff were all terrific and I had a very good time. I hope everyone else did!
I'm very keen on your having the patio up and going so I will try to get there before I have to take off again. Lucky Rothesay for having what's got all the benefits of a private member's club without requiring the private membership. You're doing an amazing job with the place.
I wanted to write and thank you all so very much for making our family celebration of Mom & Dads 60th Anniversary such a success. Everything was beautiful and we were made to feel very welcome. The setting and service were elegant, and my sincerest compliments to the chef! All of the staff was cheerful, helpful and pleasant.
I would however, like to send along special thanks to Sharon for helping me out with the storage of the flowers. It was so convenient to be able to bring them out the day before and it was also the only way we could even begin to attempt to surprise Mom!
And special thanks to Nancy, for her wonderful attention to all our whims, and her grace in the face of my brother's sense of humour. Truly a wonderful experience, enjoyed by us all. Thank you again, we will certainly continue to be repeat customers.

To Jamie and all of the staff at Shadow Lawn,
It's hard to believe that it's been over 7 months since Krystal and I celebrated our marriage at Shadow Lawn. With each passing day, as moments fade to memories, we look back with fondness at our wedding day and wanted to express our heartfelt thanks for everything that you did for us.
A million thank yous for your endearing service, your beautiful venue, your unforgettable food, your warmhearted staff, and for meeting our neuroses with flexibility and kindness. We are forever grateful for our storybook experience and look forward to returning to New Brunswick and seeing you all again soon.
We couldn't have had a better day. Thank you again for your integral role in making it so memorable.

James, what a great night you helped out with. The gang was completely impressed and blown away. The comments went on all evening of how great the service and food was and of course your great location. I think you'll see many of them back again. I may even bring Sophie out for a nice lunch or supper sometime. Thanks again for making me look good.

Thanks to everyone who was a part of our wedding here at Shadow Lawn. Everything was amazing and we appreciate all that was done for us, it was perfect.
My husband Tom Haney and I were married at Shadow Lawn Inn in July 2008. As an “older” couple, we wanted a setting which reflected where we now are in life as well as a place we could return to on our anniversaries. We could not have picked a better setting than lovely Shadow Lawn in picture perfect Rothesay. Pat Gallagher and his staff embraced our “East meets West” theme with N.B. Lobster and Alberta Beef.
Planning a wedding even a small one from afar is never easy but it was in our case because of the masterful way even the smallest detail was handled. Our guests from across the country were charmed by the elegance and grace of the location and the warmth of the host and staff. A lovely afternoon turned into a balmy evening with guests spilling out of the stately Inn onto immaculate lawns, listening to music drifting from inside. Last year we enjoyed a marvelous anniversary dinner there and it too was a special evening.
We will be back later this month to celebrate our 2010 anniversary at Shadow Lawn Inn albeit a little later in the month. My husband and I highly recommend this remarkable venue for any special occasion. We were also delighted to see that as of July 1, the next generation of Gallaghers will continue this special place in the time honoured tradition of elegant hospitality.

Thank you to the Gallaghers and the staff of Shadow Lawn. Having traveled throughout Canada and many places globally, Shadow Lawn is my favourite place, “a home away from home”…I believe this is my 8th stay in 36 years. The ambience, the hospitality and friendliness makes the Inn very special. I hope to return again and again.
“Always a delightful experience.”
Wonderful. We will definitely be back.

(Submitted by John Gahagan)
Sometime before 1975 four friends thought it would be a good idea to go out once a month for an evening of good food in beautiful surroundings. All four were either teachers at Millidgeville North High School or spouses of Millidgeville teachers. Wilf and Anne Harrison, Nicholas Nicholas and Ginger Gahagan were the original four. Ginger, my wife, convinced me to join them for the conversation even though I had no interest in food.
Shadow Lawn Inn under the ownership of Willie Ward and with the cooking done by his wife Jean was chosen. Willie and Jean devised menus which interested the members of the group, (well, I had steak, mashed potatoes and peas every time) and acted as hosts. In the late eighties there was the phenomenon of Murder parties and the Millidgeville group held two – a hippy sixties murder and an Agatha Christie thirties style murder. Shadow Lawn Inn was, of course, the venue for both. The group continued after the Wards sold to Pat and Margret Gallagher and after they sold to Jamie and Mary Ann Gallagher.
People joined and left the group but it has grown to a steady fifteen or so at each month’s get together. For at least 36 years the group has met once a month through the school year with only one cancellation in all that time and that was February 2011 because of snow. That’s 359 steak dinners for me, and counting!
